Some customer applications cannot be satisfied by the Chamber manufacturer supplying a fixed, fully-integrated chamber enclosure. Perhaps the customer needs a variety of different volume/shape enclosures? Perhaps the chamber enclosure needs to be separated from all the chamber machinery due to limited space around the DUT?

In such cases, the need can be satisfied with a PCU from Russells Technical Products. A very convenient design approach is to start with an economical, assembly-line G-Series chamber (which is normally sold with a windowed door). Replace the typical door with one that has a couple of large ports. With proper baffling inside the chamber, the top port can supply temperature-conditioned air via a duct to the remote enclosure. The bottom port can receive air back from the remote enclosure via its own duct, to be reconditioned inside the PCU. The photo below shows three identical PCU's, each with the two front ports (to which, the flexible duct hoses are attached). 

 The remote enclosure is essentially an insulated box with (at a minimum) two ports to accept the "supply" duct and the "return" duct from the PCU. Since all the temperature conditioning and controls are based in the PCU assembly, these remote enclosures can be quite simple designs. They can be custom-fabricated at Russells to customer requirements, OR customers can make their own enclosures.
